For the last two weeks I’ve dedicated my spare time to writing a nifty new Twitter tool, something @winnydejong and I came up with a few months ago. The tool analyses the last few thousand tweets you’ve sent. Our algorithm tries to determine at what times you will most likely get the highest number of mentions, clicks and retweets. You can then schedule status updates (instead of sending them immediately) and automatically promote your new blogs during the most effective time slots.
Last night we also decided on the name. After rejecting Tublisher, BlogPokon and Yellow Banana (a serious candidate for a while, I thought it had a nice ring to it), we ended up naming our tool the Emmett Machine, named after the time travel machine dr Emmett Brown invented in the movie Back to the Future.
At 3:15 AM I registered the domain name (no wonder I had trouble remembering my password) and we expect to launch a public beta in two weeks time.
